I am Sebastián Martorell, a certified drone and FPV pilot based in Palma de Mallorca. I come from more than 18 years in television, live broadcast and sports production, and my path covers nearly every technical role on a shoot: television camera, jib, sound, lighting and floor management. That means I understand a production from the ground before putting anything in the air, which is the difference between a nice shot and a shot that goes into the cut when it should. Today I specialise in aerial cinematography with drone, FPV and conventional camera, on LaLiga football, live shows, motorsport and corporate productions across the Balearics and mainland Spain.
Where I come from
From camera to the air
More than 18 years in television and live production before specialising in aerial imagery: television camera, jib, sound, lighting and floor management. Nearly every technical role on a shoot.
Sport and live broadcast
LaLiga football, live shows and motorsport. The aerial shot goes into a multi-camera cut as one more camera, with its own timings and cues.
Audiovisual production
Corporate productions and work for broadcasters and production companies across the Balearics, mainland Spain and Europe when the project warrants it.
What I fly with
Registered operator with AESA
Current registration as an unmanned aircraft operator with the Spanish Aviation Safety Agency.
EASA A1/A3, A2 and STS
Remote pilot certificates in the open and specific categories, including the European standard scenarios STS-01 and STS-02. Issued by AESA, the Spanish aviation authority, under EU regulations and valid in every EASA country.
Aeronautical radio operator
Radio operator licence, needed to coordinate with ENAIRE and to operate where the airspace requires it.
Public liability insurance
In force, as any professional drone operation requires.
How I work, and what I do not do
Where
Based in Palma de Mallorca. I work across Mallorca and the rest of the Balearics, and in mainland Spain and Europe for projects that warrant it.
Delivery
Footage is delivered as a selected rush or edited, as agreed, with usage rights transferred on completion of payment.
What I do not do
I do not do technical inspection, thermography, surveying or photogrammetry. My work is imagery: aerial video and photography. When what is needed is measurement, I say so and turn the job down.
